artist statement
My work explores the tension between form and collapse, using contemporary abstract painting as a language to process and express dark and fragile aspects of human experience. Themes of decay, instability, chaos, and erosion run through my practice—reflecting both personal narratives and broader human conditions.
Working primarily with acrylics, I use expressive, gestural techniques and imprecise tools to produce shapes and textures that resist replication. I embrace damage, subtraction, distortion, and chance as vital components of my process, often removing as much as I add. This push and pull creates surfaces that feel lived-in and uncertain—records of emotion rather than depictions of form.
Painting is not only my medium but also my mental health practice. It’s a way of translating internal turbulence into something tangible, something others can feel even if they can’t fully name it. I aim to create work that feels alive —something that can hold complexity without demanding resolution.
For those who live with my work, I hope it offers a unique and ever-changing presence: not shouting for attention, but never quite disappearing either.
